Frequently Asked Questions

I've never zip lined before, do I need any training?

Not to worry-and thank you for saving your first time zip lining for us. You will receive a 15 minute training session at the start of your tour from our very experienced guides. They will teach you the ropes and inform you of all emergency precautions we have taken along the way as well.

Is there a weight restriction to ride?

Although we wish EVERYONE could ride, you do need to be between 50 and 250 lbs. to safely ride our Big Zippers line. Our lines are tuned to best suite that weight range. Although we do not have a weight restriction on our Lil Zipper lines, we ask that their space be reserved for young children.

What should I bring / wear?
  1. You are required to wear enclosed shoes (runners are ideal, no crocs)
  2. Definitely come dressed for the current and forecasted weather, as you know weather can and does change on the Prairies and we go rain or shine
  3. Bug spray and sunscreen
  4. Gloves can be worn - it's up to you and can be purchased from The See Can on site
  5. A smile and courage are also recommended!
  6. Cash to tip your awesome guides!
Are the zip lines safe to use?

Yes they definitely are safe. Our owners and contractors have built them to meet and surpass Canadian Building Code standards on towers and structures, while not taking away the thrill of adventure we know our participants are looking for. Daily checks are done to ensure everything is in tip-top (zip-top) shape.

Do I need to fill out any paperwork?

Yes, all adventure seekers must sign a waiver to participate - NO exceptions. To save time, complete the waiver before your arrival.

Are there washrooms available?

Yes, public washrooms are available in the park.

Do I need to make a reservation?

To ensure your spot we highly recommend booking in advance.
Walkups are welcome and are based on available zip tour space. Payment for walkups can be made at The See Can by debit or credit card. Please note, each tour group has eight spots therefore you may have others ride with your group.

What if it rains?

Here You Go - Rainy or Not
We are ready to take you on your adventure, rain or shine. All guides are dressed for the appropriate weather and so MUST you! Although, zip lining in the rain may not be your first choice, please make sure you come prepared for it. (OK, we are in Saskatchewan and weather can change quickly), so perhaps bring appropriate clothing for other weather types as well.

What if there is thunder or lightning?

Weather on the Prairies can be very risky from time to time. Although the weather is totally out of our control, we know it can/will interfere with even the best-made plans.

Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the start of your booked tour time. The Outer Edge team will decide whether to proceed with the start of the tour at its scheduled tour time. This is done strictly for our guests and staffs safety.

OR

If severe weather happens during your tour, Outer Edge staff will escort you back to The See Can building to keep all safe from harm. Paid guests will receive the following:

  • In this case you will receive a chance to rebook your adventure at no charge providing we have available zip tour space OR receive a gift certificate valued the cost of your tour as compensation for this out of our control occurrence.
  • A full credit of your purchased zip line excursion (including your deposit) on an Outer Edge gift certificate, which can be used at a later booking within the same season or on any merchandise purchased within The See Can.

What if there is an emergency situation?

We know from time to time mishaps in adventurous outings can happen; we at Outer Edge Adventure Park make every effort to make our park and your experience safe and limit potential risks.

Our guides and other park staff are trained routinely in risk management, CPR & first aid, zip line recovery and other emergency park evacuations to help deal with any “unexpected” emergencies that may happen. An AED is available onsite inside The See Can building.

Do you sell gift certificates and can they be used towards a tour?

Yes, we sell gift certificates! They can be purchased from The See Can building in the park in any denomination and never expire. Gift certificates can be used towards tours EXCEPT Classroom Adventure bookings. Gift certificates may also be used towards other park activities or merchandise. The full balance of a gift certificate must be used at one time, a balance cannot remain.

Gift certificates MUST be presented to the front-end staff inside The See Can building when you check in and the amount will be applied to your balance owing at the start of your tour (when you pick up your gear). Should your gift certificate not cover your balance, the amount owing must be paid BEFORE you receive your gear IN ORDER to ride.

What is an Adventure Seeker Loyalty Card?

Join the Adventure Seekers loyalty card program at Outer Edge and become hooked! Each standard or advanced rate zip line tour earns you stamps on your Adventure Seeker card. You will receive two stamps for every Big Zip Adventure and one stamp for every Lil’ Zip Adventure. Fill your card with 5 adventure stamps and receive one FREE Lil Zipper adventure or zip on and fill it with 10 adenvture stamps and receive one FREE Big Zipper adventure.

Should I be concerned about bugs and mosquitoes?

Although we have done everything possible to limit pesky mosquitoes and bugs, this is an outdoor activity and therefore there will be some. Mosquitoes and ticks are common to the area. We encourage you to wear bug spray to limit their interest in you.

Should I tip my guides?

Tipping is entirely up to you. Our guides appreciate tips and if you feel you received exceptional service, feel free to tip your guides. We also encourage you to fill out a comment card to tell us how we are doing.
